Event Recap

We were so amazed with the incredible turnout at our first annual “Prevention Night” dinner. It was a PACKED HOUSE with over 100 attendees including OHS students and their parents. Thank you so much to Lt. Matthew Landman of the Nassau County Police Department and Oceanside Alumni / Recovery Activist Steven Dodge for their incredibly eye opening presentations. To all our amazing local organizations including Long Island Crisis Center, Pride For Youth, Mount Sinai South Nassau, National Guard NY CounterDrug Task Force, Seafield Treatment Center, Oceanside Counseling Center, and our team at Oceanside SAFE for sharing their resources and donating their time. Thank you to Bonbinos Pizza for feeding us all, and Thank you to the OSD Be Well Council for cosponsoring this event and always supporting our prevention initiatives!

Lastly - this evening would not have been possible without the incredible OHS Youth Council, and the vision / efforts of OHS Alumni and Prevention Activist Nick Wolwebber. To say that we are proud to work alongside you all is the understatement of the century. You are changing the culture of Mental Health and Substance Misuse every single day with all that you do, and you are truly the heart and soul of our mission. Job well done by all!
