Prescription Drug Take Back Day!

October 24th is National DEA Rx Drug Take Back Day. Help keep your home #safe by bringing all expired prescription drugs in your medicine cabinets to the OHS front circle for disposal. Just drive up, and drop off. No need to even leave your vehicles!
October 24, 2020
12pm - 2pm
Oceanside High School Front Circle

According to the 2018 National Survey on Drug Use and Health: 9.9 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.

COVID-19 Guideline's will be followed at drop off. We ask that you please wear your mask when rolling down your window to drop off with volunteers. Representatives from Oceanside SAFE, NCPD’s 4th Precinct and The Oceanside School District will be there to collect and greet you. Please no sharps or liquids!

Event Recap

Thank you our amazing volunteers, the 4th precinct, Oceanside School District and community members who helped make Prescription Drug Take Back Day such a huge success! Over the course of 2 hours, over 35 cars dropped off medications to be safely disposed of by the Nassau County Police Dept. Each car received a free Deterra Drug Deactivation bag along with local data & information about Oceanside SAFE Coalition! Our goal is to host another drop-off site in the Spring, and to continue to assist in keeping our homes and community "safe" and drug-free!
