Join Oceanside SAFE Coalition, local elected officials and law enforcement as we provide community awareness, education and tips on how to make the best, safest decisions for yourselves and your loved ones this summer and beyond.
We are so grateful to the Oceanside Library for allowing Oceanside SAFE Coalition to host this mornings press conference on Community Youth Substance Misuse Prevention and the “100 Deadliest Days” between Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend.
We discussed:
- Enforcement of Nassau County’s Social Host Law.
- Limitation of social access for underage drinking / substance misuse.
- The importance of increasing education, communication and supportive resources.
- Working together as a collective force to keep our children, families and communities safe.
We are so thankful to have had an amazing lineup of speakers that represent our communities at a local, state and congressional level. Special thank you to Congresswoman Laura Gillen, Assemblyman Ari Brown, Assemblywoman Judy Griffin, Councilwoman Laura Ryder, Nassau County Legislator Patrick Mullaney, Nassau County Deputy Chief of Detectives William Leahy and Executive Director of Long Beach AWARE Judi Vining.
